Murray nets first Masters victory

Andy Murray

Andy Murray has won the biggest title of his tennis career so far by beating world number three Novak Djokovic in the Cincinnati Masters in America.

Murray beat the 21-year-old Serb in straight sets, 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-5), in two hours and 23 minutes.

The win means the Scot's world ranking will be boosted to number six, which is the highest of his career so far.

Afterwards, Murray said of his victory: "It's huge, because to win these tournaments is tough nowadays."

Murray had 6 match points before sealing the win, but said he'd put in the physical work and it had paid off.

"I got very nervous and he was hitting the ball really big but I hung in well," he said.

Murray's next challenge will be in Beijing, where he's representing Great Britain in the Olympic Games.
