Boy fights back by biting dog

An 11-year-old boy fought back when a dog attacked him, by biting it.

Gabriel was playing in his uncle's backyard in Brazil when the animal pounced, so he put his arms around its neck and hit and bit it.

Workers on a nearby building site saw what was happening and came to help Gabriel get away from the pitbull.

Gabriel needed four stitches and broke a tooth, but he was lucky not to have been more seriously hurt, because biting dogs is NOT a safe thing to do.

Since the attack, Gabriel has hit the headlines by telling the story of what happened to him.

He said: "When he bit me I bit him back. I wrapped my arm around his neck and started to hit him."

The attack really frightened Gabriel's family, who say they are too scared to have a dog in the house now.

The dog which attacked Gabriel has been taken away in case it attacks anyone else.
