Press Packers Khushali and Jenna took part in their school's INVENT competition.
Not only did they win with their invention idea, they also got to pitch their idea to important people at a big shopping store - for real!
Here's their story.
"It started with us thinking up a brilliant invention called 'Vanish Varnish'.
We both love nail varnish but find it messy to remove and sometimes forget to take it off before going to school.
So we created something attractive to remove nail varnish which could be carried in a pencil case or a small handbag and could even be used secretly in school.
Survey
We thought both girls and ladies who like to wear nail varnish could then use it. It is designed to look like a normal felt tip pen, but instead of containing ink it contains nail varnish remover.
First we checked the idea out with our friends and teachers using a survey; they loved it and many wanted one straight away.
We also checked prices and others things in the shops to make sure we were well prepared and created a poster and a prototype of our design.
Shocked
Then on the competition day we pitched our idea to some real inventors, a bit like the Dragon's Den on TV, only it was in front of a big audience too.
We were shocked and really happy when we won. But that wasn't the end of it ….
One of the parents who watched our pitch thought our product had great potential.
Very interested
He put us in contact with the head of buying at a big store who then invited us to its headquarters in London to learn about our idea.
We felt excited and nervous at the same time. The lady who listened to our pitch was very interested and asked us lots of questions.
She has recently given us some suppliers to take the product another step forward.
Confident and creative
This was great fun and a wonderful experience and we really hope that 'Vanish Varnish' will be a success in the future.
We never expected our idea to get so far and this has taught us to be more confident, creative and open-minded."
