The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian has stormed straight to the top of the British box office.

It's the second filmed instalment of CS Lewis' Narnia books and comes three years after the original blockbuster The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Prince Caspian sees the four Pevensie children whisked back into the magical world to help the prince in his struggle against his wicked uncle.

The film took a whopping 4.1m in its opening weekend in the UK and Ireland.
