Check out Lizo's Potter challenge

Lizo with his Potter challenge

JK Rowling has written a tiny Harry Potter story that fits on a piece of A5 card, to be auctioned off for charity.

So we decided to set Lizo an even harder challenge - could he write a summary of all seven Potter books on a piece of card the same size? And he did it!

Check out his Potted Potter summary below: (Warning - this contains spoilers).

Book I

Children reading Harry Potter Books
Lizo had to get seven tales on one card!
Harry Potter finds out he's a wizard and goes off to Hogwarts wizarding school. He also finds out that his parents were killed by an evil wizard called Voldemort. When Voldemort tried to kill Harry his power broke and he disappeared. Harry finds out that a valuable object called the Philosopher's Stone is being hidden at Hogwarts. He stops Voldemort getting it and returning to a proper body.

Book II

Harry, Ron and Hermione are in the second year at Hogwarts. Mysterious things are happening in the school. Students are being turned almost to stone, or that is what it seems like. It's linked to a place called the Chamber of Secrets. Inside is a monster which is trying to kill the students. It's being controlled by Voldemort through a diary he wrote when he was a teenager. Harry kills the monster and survives.

Book III

Tales of Beedle the Bard
JK wrote the Tales of Beedle the Bard
A notorious prisoner has escaped from Azkaban, the wizard prison, and the Minister of Magic thinks that he's after Harry. Harry finds out that the escaped prisoner Sirius Black was his father's best friend, and that he was imprisoned for killing muggles. Harry finds out that Sirius is innocent, and someone else betrayed his parents. Sirius has to flee though, because hardly anyone believes that he's innocent.

Book IV

Harry finds himself entering a wizarding tournament against students from other schools. At the same time, support for Voldemort seems to be growing stronger. Dumbledore is trying to find out the truth. But the tournament is a trap and Harry is captured by Voldemort who uses his blood to get a new body. Harry escapes and tells Dumbledore that Voldemort has returned.

Book V

Lots of people don't believe that Voldemort has returned. Harry finds out that a prophecy was made about him and Voldemort. Voldemort lures Harry to the Ministry of Magic, but Voldemort escapes without the prophecy. Dumbledore tells him he must kill Voldemort, or Voldemort must kill him.

Book VI

The wizarding world finally realise that Voldemort has returned. And that Harry is in great danger. He starts having special lessons with Dumbledore to prepare him for what's to come. Dumbledore tells him that Voldemort has split his soul into several pieces called Horcruxes to protect him from death. Some have been destroyed. But returning to Hogwarts after a mission to find one of them, Dumbledore is killed.

Book VII

Harry still has to find and destroy the remaining Horcruxes. He's helped by Ron and Hermione. But things are more difficult because Voldemort now controls the Ministry of Magic. They finally track them all down. And Harry prepares to die, which he thinks he has to do so that Voldemort can be killed forever. But Harry isn't really dead. And now he duels with Voldemort, and Voldemort is killed.

Harry, Ron and Hermione live happily ever after.
