Doctor Who is always packed full of shocks and surprises, but could it be about to get even scarier?
Well, the man behind some of the most terrifying episodes so far is taking over from lead writer Russell T Davies for the fifth series.
Steven Moffat wrote the unforgettable episodes Blink and The Empty Child.
But he'll have a hard act to follow, because Russell T Davies was the man responsible for bringing the hit show back to our screens in 2005.
And it'll be a long time before we find out what new shocks Moffat's got in store, because the fifth series isn't being broadcast until 2010.
Meanwhile, Davies will remain in charge of four specials which will be shown in 2009.

Moffat said: "My entire career has been a secret plan to get this job. I applied before, but I got knocked back cos the BBC wanted someone else.
"Also, I was seven," he joked.
"Anyway, I'm glad the BBC has finally seen the light, and it's a huge honour to be following Russell into the best - and the toughest - job in television."
