Filming starts on HSM 3

The cast of High School Musical have started filming the third instalment of the hugely popular story in America.

The new tale finds basketball star Troy and pals Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad and Taylor in their last year at school, thinking about their future.

Vanessa Hudgens, who plays Gabriella, said this movie would see the characters making "tough decisions".

She added: "You definitely see relationships blossom. I'm not going to give it away, but it's really good."

The filming of High School Musical 3: Senior Year takes place at a real school in Salt Lake City, actually called East High, where the first two films were made.

This film is set for the big screen instead of for TV.

This time they'll be the oldest in the school, and Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella, are worried about being separated from each other when they go to college.

So, along with the rest of the Wildcats, they put on a musical about their hopes and fears for the future.

While they weren't giving away any plot secrets, the cast said they were excited to be reunited.

Zac said making the movie was not stressful: "It's hard to look at it with pressure because we've been looking forward to this for so long. I know I couldn't wait to get back here to start this movie."
