Do YOU worry about climate change?

Polar bear

Newsround has been looking into subjects that you've told us you worry about, including climate change.

So what green issues are you concerned about and why?

Is it endangered animals, pollution, global warming or extreme weather?

Or maybe you don't think about it much because you've got other things to worry about?

Unfortunately this topic is now closed but there are Comments pages on other subjects on the main Chat index.

Your comments

"I think it is a very important subject and everyone should do their bit to help. But I also do think people shouldn't lose sleep over it as if we all do our bit the world can be a better place!"

Katie, 12, Wiltshire, England

"I worry about climate change because I always wonder about what happens if it carries on. What happens to all the polar bears and penguins if all the ice melts?"

Rhiannon, 10, Keighley, England

"My family recycle and save energy as much as possible, which is quite hard because there are six of us! We have three recycling bins; one for plastic cartons, one for garden and vegetable waste and one for other things. We also have a paper bag for old paper and cardboard, and for other items we visit the local recycling bank. My family also turn the computer, television and other electrical appliances off to save energy when we're not using them. I think that everyone should make a bigger effort to be eco-friendly now as in later years, we might be regretting not having been more careful earlier. "

Olivia, 11, Bury, England

"I'm not really fussed. The climate has always been changing and it's just changing again."

Beth, 13, Market Harborough, England

"I am worried about animals."

Cerys, 9, Dunstable, England

"I worry about climate change and so do my family, but we try to help by turning lights off, recycling and doing things like that.

Jacqueline, 11, Tamworth, England

"To be honest I don't know what the fuss is all about. We are not going to survive long enough to see the worst affects of climate change so why is everyone complaining? I think it's a good idea to reduce pollution but not make people too upset about it!"

Hugo, 12, Letchworth, England

"I don't think anyone really does enough to help and it does worry me. We are learning about climate change in science and some of the facts we look through are really worrying. I hope eventually people see what they are doing to our world and try to help."

Phoebe, 13, Bromley, England

"I do worry about climate change because I feel that all humans are to blame and most of them don't care - not like me."

Alley, 10, Ayr, Scotland

"Sometimes I worry about climate change and I think that we should all do our bit to help prevent it. It is sad to think that lots of animals could die because of it."

Robyn, 12, Beith, Scotland

"I worry about it and so do my family. We worry how long the ice caps have left because of climate change."

Jack, 13, Stockton on Tees, England

"I worry, because of the ice caps melting, that animals like polar bears will get hurt and they and many other animals will soon be extinct."

Chelsea, 11, South Yorkshire, England

"I am completely worried and upset about climate change. My sisters, brother and I are really sad that the polar bears and penguins suffer."

Justine, 9, Ireland

"I am starting to get worried about global warming. If we were the animals living in the North Pole and the South Pole we would start to think will we ever make it past the threat of global warming or are we just all going to die here. So, I am helping as much as possible to help the animals and help save the polar bears and all the other creatures there!"

Sophie, 14, Selby, England

"I am really scared and worried about it, it scares me so much just thinking about the world drowning. It's terrible!"

Fliss, 9, Cheshire, England

"I think we should all do our bit. I don't want to drown!"

Josh, 12, Worthing, England

"Yes I do. We are doing about it at school. It really worries me."

Nathan, 8, Nottinghamshire, England

"I am worried about it because seas get higher and we will get lots more floods."

Charlea, 10, Stevenage, England

"I don't worry about it because they've been saying about climate change for years and anyway, even if it is true, then it won't happen for another 100 years."

Caitlin, 11, London, England

"I do get worried about climate change because it might not be us suffering but our children will be and that is not going to be nice."

Gurwinder, 11, Stratford, England

"All people should ride bikes and horses and watch out how much electricity they are using and should stop using so much. There should be a law about using so much."

Dean, 12, Warwickshire, England

"I don't worry too much but I do worry a bit because this could affect the world very badly."

Sara, 11, London, England

"I am worried about climate change because of the animals and the pollution."

Alice, 13, Essex, England

"We should be very worried about climate change. In 60 years the ice caps could melt and one fifth of the world's land will go under water. London, Manchester, (my home town), massive parts of all countries could be ruined. Also, climate change is contributing to the extinction of endangered animals."

Caitlin, 12, Lancaster, England

"What's global warming? I'll tell you floods, tornadoes, fire etc all those bad things as well as the sea rising and all the polar bears etc and the rainforest getting destroyed so basically global warming is the end of the world and the end of the world will happen one day even if you recycle one million bottles."

Saraj, 11, Coventry, England

"I am concerned about climate change. I am currently in the middle of getting my year (9) a day full of workshops to raise awareness. I am concerned about it all. The destruction of the rainforest I believe is a huge problem, as is the polar ice caps melting but it's good to see the problem being addressed. You do see more people with the eco friendly bags etc. I'm personally trying as hard as I can to be more environmentally friendly."

Ellise, 14, Norwich, England

"I worry about climate change sometimes because I would hate to see polar bears and penguins suffer."

Brad, 9, Rotherham, England

"I think that people shouldn't worry about climate change but they should become more proactive with conserving the environment. After all, there are enough bad things in the world and worrying doesn't help."

Hattie, 14, Surrey, England

"I am worried but as long as we all do our bit to help it lifts people's worries."

Amanda, 10, Manchester, England

"I don't believe in global warming, in fact I think it's blown all out of proportion. The planet climate changes naturally all the time! Climate change is real but human's contributions to it are so small we're insignificant!"

Steven, 12, Manchester, England

"I think that climate change is a very, very big problem around the world and that it is very worrying for us and animals."

Jasmin, 11, Kent, England

"I don't even think climate change is a big issue, it's going to happen no matter what we do so why care about it?"

Tim, 13, Leeds, England

"My dad says the Earth has always warmed up and cooled over thousands of years so I don't worry about climate change any more."

Leanne, 12, Norwich, England

"YES!!!! I do worry about climate change. Especially as I don't think it's been explained properly to us children."

James, 11, Surrey, England

"I am worried. My family recycle and my dad has a compost bin! We should all do our part, you know WORK TOGETHER!"

Abigail, 12, Somerset, England

"I'm very worried about climate change, I would hate to see animals suffer for the damage that we did."

"People should recycle and use cars less and use vehicles that don't have engines."
