Tales of Beedle the Bard

A website is giving Harry Potter fans the chance to read The Tales of Beedle the Bard, but only if they're over 12.

The book, hand-written by JK Rowling, is one of only seven in the world, and was bought by Amazon for £1,950,000!

But lots of younger Potter fans can't even enter, because there are only two categories, one for 13-17-year-olds and one for adults.

Amazon says it had to set an age limit on the writing contest because of internet rules in other countries.

Fans have to answer one of three questions in 100 words or less to enter. They are:

JK Rowling and her new book
JK gave six of the books to her friends

  • What songs do wizards use to celebrate birthdays?
  • What sports do wizards play besides Quidditch?
  • What have you learned from the Harry Potter series that you use in everyday life?

The overall winner will travel to London with a friend, and spend a whole weekend poring over The Tales, which are mentioned in the final Potter book.
