Keegan grabs first Newcastle win

Newcastle have at last netted their first victory since Kevin Keegan took over, with a 1-0 win against Fulham.

Goals from Mark Viduka and Michael Owen were enough to hand the Magpies their first win in 13 matches.

Viduka struck in the sixth minute off a pass from Geremi before Owen doubled their lead off a Geremi free-kick.

Earlier on in the day, Tottenham beat Portsmouth 2-0 as Darren Bent came off the bench to score the 100th goal at White Hart Lane this season.

He nodded in Dimitar Berbatov's shot before setting up Jamie O'Hara to seal the win.

Portsmouth's Sean Davis almost scored against his old club to put the visitors ahead in the first half, but it wasn't to be.

Relegation battlers

Meanwhile, Middlesbrough eased their relegation fears with a 1-0 win over Derby who are at rock bottom in the league.

They had several chances to extend their lead, but they were denied by Derby keeper Roy Caroll.
