Rangers have won their first trophy in three years by beating Dundee United in the Scottish League Cup final 3-2 on penalty kicks.

Noel Hunt put Dundee Utd ahead in the 34th minute, and Mark De Vries gave them their 2-1 lead after six minutes of extra time.

Kris Boyd was the hero for the Gers, scoring twice in normal time before firing the winning penalty.

It's the 25th time that Rangers have won the League Cup.

Dundee United last lifted a trophy when it won the Scottish Cup in 1994, and last won the Scottish League Cup in 1981.
