Lions get new high-tech playmate

A pride of lions at a safari park in Scotland have got a high-tech playmate to help them with their hunting skills.

The LionRover3 is designed to look like prey for the big cats at Blair Drummond Safari Park in Stirling to keep them on their toes and stop them getting bored.

Feeding live prey to lions is illegal in the UK, and keepers had hoped the remote-controlled robo-prey would be a good alternative for them to chase.

But so far it seems the lions are a bit nervous of their mechanical prey.

A spokesman for the safari park said: "Lions are intelligent animals and if they are not sure about something they will hang back until they know it's safe."
