'Singing' dingo is set to retire

Dinky the singing dingo

A "singing" dingo who's been entertaining tourists for years in the Australian outback is set to retire.

Dinky the dingo became a bit of a celeb after he started howling along whenever people played piano at the roadhouse where he lives near Alice Springs.

His ability to hit the high notes has wowed tourists from all over the world, but he's stepping out of the limelight as his owner's planning to sell up.

It's the end of a long career for Dinky who's raised loads of cash for charity.

There's even a question about him in the Australian version of the Trivial Pursuit board game!

As well as "singing", Dinky's owner Jim Cotterill reckons the pup also "plays" the piano by walking across the keyboard.

"This is all self-taught stuff," he said. "He did it because he wanted to do it. When people start playing he pricks his ears up and he's ready to go with it."
