Arsenal conquer Italian giants

Arsenal were pleased with their win

Arsenal have scored a memorable 2-0 Champions League victory against Italian giants AC Milan to progress to the last 16 of the competition.

Manchester United also went through, beating French side Lyon 1-0 on the night for a 2-1 win over two legs.

But it was a bad night for Celtic, who crashed out of the contest, losing 4-2 against Barcelona over two matches.

Arsenal became the first English team to beat defending champions AC Milan at the famous San Siro stadium.

The Gunners waited until late on to get on the scoresheet, with their first goal - from Cesc Fabregas - coming in the 84th minute.

Emanuel Adebayor secured the win with his first ever Champions League goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal in Manchester United's 1-0 victory at Old Trafford. It was his 30th goal in 30 matches.
