Plan to teach baby robot to talk

The iCub robot
Scientists are preparing to find out if a baby robot can be taught to talk.

The experts at the University of Plymouth in Devon will spend four years with the human-looking metre high robot, called iCub.

They hope they'll find information which will lead to the development of robots which learn, think and talk.

The project, which kicks off in March next year, is believed to be the first of its kind in the world and is backed by other universities across Europe.
