Sportsround Superkids: Week 3

Superkids

Who is better at sport - girls or boys?

Well, Sportsround has a new challenge for some of the sportiest kids in the country.

Each week, one boy and one girl will be challenged to try out a new sport that they've never tried before. Whoever wins will get a point for their side.

The score is currently 1-1.

But who will win this week to take the lead?

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGERS: THE BOY

Pete
NAME: Pete

USUAL SPORT: Snowboarding

PETE SAYS: "I feel like all the boys in the country are depending on me to win - I'm going to do my best!"

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGERS: THE GIRL

Karina
NAME: Karina

USUAL SPORT: Curling

KARINA SAYS: "I'm half excited and half nervous! I'm going to do my best and really enjoy myself."

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: MOUNTAIN BIKING

Karina tries mountain biking
Downhill mountain biking is usually done somewhere where there's loads of bumps, like in a forest

The bikes tend to have gears and special suspension, which makes the bicycle more bouncy going over rough bits.

It's really important to use your brakes properly and learn to lift yourself up properly off the saddle to make your ride smooth.

WHO WON?

Pete won after some cool biking moves, so the score is Boys 2, Girls 1.
