This is the moment a pregnant tiger leapt to freedom after being captured in a village in eastern India.
The tiger had climbed into a tree to escape from a group of villagers who had chased her. She was tranquilised and rescued by forest guards.
The frightened villagers had chased the tiger away with stones and burning sticks, but she only had minor injuries, officials said.
Guards took her away by boat and released her back into the wild in the Bay of Bengal.
Tigers have been slowly disappearing from forests and reserves in India because of hunting and a shortage of forest guards, but there was a happy ending for this beast.
