Monster frog found by scientists

What a monster!

How's this for a monster frog? A 70-million-year-old fossil of the beast - which was the size of a squashed beach ball - has just been uncovered.

Scientists say it's a relative of the present-day horned toad, which is famed for its bad temper.

If its ancestor was also aggressive, scientists say it would have been quite a scary beast to come across.

They have nicknamed the creature "the frog from hell" and say it might even have snacked on small dinosaurs.

Its diet also probably included insects and lizards.

The fossil was found in Madagascar by a team of UK and US scientists.

They say the frog would have weighed about 4kg (9lb), with a body length of about 40cm (16 inches).
