Police dog gets his own blog

Tayside Police's newest dog
A special online diary has been set up to follow the progress of a police force's latest dog recruit!

The six-week-old black puppy - who hasn't been named yet - is the first from a special breeding programme to provide police dogs.

A spokesman for Tayside Police in Scotland said loads of people were interested in the little pup's blog.

He won't start proper training until next year but he's already started preparing for life in the police.

His name will be chosen by pupils at St Ninian's Primary School in Dundee.

You can see how he's doing online by looking at his training diary on the Tayside Police website.

His new handler PC Mike Keenan said: "The benefits of using German Shepherds are that they are generally very loyal and hard working, as well as being intelligent."
