Man killed in tiger attack at zoo

Tatiana was shot dead after the attack

One man has been killed and two others hurt after a tiger got out of its cage at a zoo in America.

It's not known how the big cat - a Siberian tiger called Tatiana - got out of her enclosure. The victims were visitors to the zoo in San Francisco.

The tiger, which also attacked a keeper at the zoo about a year ago, has been shot dead.

The attack happened at about 5pm, when the zoo was preparing to close on Christmas Day - December 25.

The zoo was cleared of people as emergency teams and armed police officers rushed to the incident.

Officers shot the animal as it began to move towards them.

The two injured men, aged in their 20s, are very poorly and are being treated in hospital.
