Our biggest Doctor Who fan Lizo reviews the 2007 Christmas special - Voyage of the Damned.
Picking up where the last series ended with a ship crashing through the Tardis wall, this year's Christmas Special hurls The Doctor straight into a new adventure aboard a spaceship in orbit around the earth.
His companion from the last series, Martha Jones, decided to give up travelling in the Tardis, so The Doctor's on his own. That is until he meets a waitress aboard the ship called Astrid - played by pop star Kylie Minogue.
And it's a good job The Doctor's on board, because things are starting to go wrong on the ship.
People are acting strangely, and the robots who are there to help passengers are malfunctioning.
Kylie Minogue plays the part of waitress Astrid
There's a lot that's different in this episode. A new version of the theme tune and a new companion in the shape of pop star Kylie Minogue.
There's great chemistry between David Tennant and Kylie, as they quickly bond into a team who will do anything to help the other.
He gives a faultless performance, which is everything we've learned to expect from him. While Kylie who used to act in Australian soap Neighbours, has just the right amount of excitement as the waitress who's desperate to see more of the Universe.
This episode also beautifully juggles different elements ranging from tragedy to comedy.
Like much of Doctor Who it doesn't shy away from difficult issues. But still manages to throw in some great laughs. It's also very, very Christmassy!
And regular viewers are rewarded with one or two gags especially for faithful fans who never allow themselves to miss an episode.
It's not a perfect episode, the revelation of why everything is happening is a bit disappointing. But it's a story that does manage to show the main strength of Doctor Who, a main character who has a massive effect on the lives of people he meets.
