Arsenal and Tottenham have stormed into the semi-finals of the Carling Cup with just 10 men each.

Tottenham shattered Manchester City's perfect home record by winning 2-0 despite Didier Zokora being sent off after 20 minutes for a lunge on Elano.

City struggled to respond as Jermain Defoe put Spurs ahead and Steed Malbranque went on to secure the win.

Elsewhere, Arsenal's second team beat Blackburn 3-2 in extra time after Denilson was shown the red card.

The young Gunners took a 2-0 lead through Abou Diaby and Eduardo before Blackburn fought back with Roque Santa Cruz scoring twice to equalise.

Denilson was sent off for a bad challenge just before full-time, but it didn't stop Eduardo netting the winner during extra time.
