Doctor Who fans have got just over a week to wait until the Christmas special - Voyage of the Damned.
The show's writer Russell T Davies says he thinks it's one of the best episodes they've done yet.
"It is absolutely one of my favourite pieces of work," he told Newsround. "When we finish it I get a little DVD and I go home with it.
"I've watched it on my own since then about four times. That's how much I love it. I think it's brilliant."
He is also one of the main people behind the Sarah Jane Adventures which has achieved huge ratings on the CBBC channel.
The Sarah Jane Adventures
"I could not be more pleased by the success of the Sarah Jane Adventures, because frankly it's marvellous, isn't it? We hope it's coming back, we don't know for definite.
"We're preparing for it. We're writing scripts. Liz [Sladen] is very excited, we're raring to go. So hope and pray that it does return, because I love that show and I think it should run and run."
Last series' Dr Who companion Martha Jones will be appearing alongside Captain Jack in spin-off show Torchwood next year.
Young fans will be able watch this series because there will be a special version of the show for a family audience.
Kylie Minogue stars in this year's Christmas special
"This year there's a pre-watershed repeat - that means before 9pm. We take the episode, we edit it down. But it's safe for younger viewers to watch."
The fourth series of Doctor Who will also be on our screens next year.
"The first episode has the most unusual monsters we've ever created," he reveals.
"The special effects guys are so excited by it, they keep phoning me up going 'wait til you see them, wait til you see them!' It's the sort of creature we've never tried before.
"It's thrilling, it's really thrilling. It's fun, and it's darker than ever in some places. It's a cracking series, I can't wait for it to start."
