Christmas gives kids biggest buzz

It could be something about the pressies, but birthdays and Christmas are the things which excite you the most about the future, our survey says.

Our investigation - called All About You - looked into many parts of your lives. It was carried out as part of Newsround's 35th birthday celebrations.

Getting a job and holidays were also among your top choices for the future.

Being a footballer came out as the dream job for boys, with the girls choosing teaching as their top career.

Just under half of the kids we quizzed reckoned they were having a better life than their parents.

We also asked everyone what they would do if they were prime minister.

Lots of them said they would cut down on school, with many others saying they would stop poverty, crime and war.

We went to meet some kids to ask them what they were looking forward to.

Haarkan, 11, said: "I want to be a lawyer. I want to give justice to those who are innocent."

But 10-year-old Alex said: "I want to stay young. I like going to school - it's not boring. When you are at home, it's boring."

Brooke, also 10, said: "I'm looking forward to doing whatever I want.

"The worst thing about being a grown-up is if you don't have enough money to keep your family."
