School bans home-made mince pies

Mince pies

A school has banned pupils from taking home-made cakes and biscuits like mince pies to its Christmas fair.

The head teacher of the school in Kenfig Hill, Wales, says the decision was made because you can't tell what ingredients are in home-cooked goods.

He says this could mean someone has an allergic reaction or becomes ill after scoffing the festive delights.

Some people are upset because they think the home-made treats are better for you than shop-bought goodies.
