Alex McLeish has resigned as Scotland manager after leading the team to within a whisker of making the Euro 2008 finals.
He has been linked with English Premier League club Birmingham City and many people are expecting him to go there.
The job became available after previous coach Steve Bruce quit to join another Premier League side, Wigan.
He was in the Scotland job for just 11 months, and led them to a series of memorable victories.
This included beating World Cup runners-up France 1-0 in September.
They were eventually knocked out by a 2-1 defeat to world champions Italy.
A Scottish Football Association spokesman said: "He is an outstanding manager who has done a fantastic job with the national team."
Birmingham City are having a news conference on Wednesday, when many people think McLeish will be unveiled as the club's new manager.
