Fans die in stadium collapse

A hole is seen in a section of stands at the Fonte Nova soccer stadium in Salvador, Brazil

At least eight people have died and loads were injured when a football stadium in Brazil collapsed.

Police said cheering fans were jumping up and down at the end of a game in the 56-year-old stadium in Salvador.

More than 60,000 people were watching the important football game. The Fonte Nova stadium has been closed while an investigation takes place.

It looks like a hole several metres wide appeared in the concrete raised floor and fans fell through.
