Cartoon disabled stars unveiled

Flash the sausage dog

The makers of Wallace and Gromit have unveiled six new plasticine creations who all have disabilities.

Flash the Sausage Dog is just one of the Creature Discomforts stars who it's hoped will help us understand what life is like for people with disabilities.

Others include Peg the hedgehog, who's in a wheelchair, and Tim the tortoise who only has one leg.

All six characters are voiced by disabled people and will star in four animations that'll be on TV in January.

Each of the short films end with the message: "Change the way you see disability."

Aardman's director of the animations, Steve Harding-Hill, said it had been "an immense but incredibly satisfying challenge".
