Doctor Who baddies in TV comeback

Catherine Tate as Donna, Freema Agyeman as Martha, Dan Starkey as Commander Skorr and David Tennant as The Doctor

A group of Doctor Who baddies are set to make their evil comeback, 35 years after first appearing in the show.

The Sontarans are a ruthless race of toad-like humanoid warriors who are thought to be from the planet Sontar.

But they'd better watch out. When they return to our screens the Doctor will have two assistants to help beat them.

That's because Freema Agyeman will also be back as Martha Jones in the episode that sees her run into the Doctor's new companion, Donna, for the first time.

Fans watched Martha leave the Doctor to look after her family at the end of the last series, but now she's back Freema says fans will see her character in a whole new light.

The Sontarans first appeared on Doctor Who in 1972 and made their last evil appearance in 1985.... until now!

The new series of Doctor Who is due to hit our screens in 2008, with Catherine Tate as his new assistant Donna.
