Fat squirrel gets stuck in a cage

A grey squirrel that squeezed itself into a bird feeder for a snack got stuck behind bars after eating so many nuts that it couldn't get out again.

A woman spotted the squirrel in her garden in Dorset in the supposedly squirrel-proof, peanut-filled, feeder.

She called the RSPCA animal charity who came to the silly squirrel's rescue and helped him to escape without injury.

Insp Graham Hammond said it had been an unusual rescue: "I think this squirrel had eyes bigger than its stomach."
