Scottish kids get FREE lunches

School dinners

Kids in parts of Scotland are getting FREE school dinners for their first three years at school in a new way to beat obesity in the country.

Scotland has one of the highest levels of overweight people and experts there want kids to have a healthy start.

So children in five parts of the country are tucking into free lunches - with lots of interesting and healthy dishes on offer.

Experts say it will teach the kids good habits and they'll have more energy.

The scheme has already started in Glasgow and West Dunbartonshire.

Schools in East Ayrshire, Fife and the Borders will soon be offering free lunches too.
