Press Packer Jacqueline went to the Bath Festival of Children's Literature and met a very famous author.
Here's her story.
"I saw Jacqueline
Wilson speak at a children's literature festival.
I then waited in
line for two hours to get a book
signed.
Characters
Many people wanted to
see her and the audience
filled the biggest hall in
Bath to hear her speak.
First
of all she talked about
herself and her books.
Then
she said that she didn't
normally base any of the
characters on herself but
Jenna Williams in Clean Break
was based on her.
Waistcoat
The next person I heard
talk was Geraldine McCaughrean
who wrote Peter Pan in
Scarlet, the official sequel
to Peter Pan by JM Barrie.
She introduced herself and
then she started talking.
She
called a girl up out of the
audience, gave her a
script and got her to put on a
waistcoat.
Then they started
acting out a scene from the
book Peter Pan in Scarlet.
The
girl was very good and she got
a big applause at the end.
At
the end when we filed out of
the hall we all rushed to the
book table.
I bought two books
called White Darkness and
History Tales."
