The Time Lord could be carrying a few more awards in his tardis after being nominated for three prizes at this year's National TV Awards.
Dr Who is up for best popular drama, and its stars David Tennant and Freema Agyeman are nominated for best actor and actress.
But the programme faces stiff competition from police soap The Bill.
The winners will be chosen by the public and announced at the ceremony on 31 October.
Freema, who played Doctor Who's assistant, is up against Eastenders stars Kara Tointon, who plays Dawn Swann, and Lacey Turner who plays Stacey Slater.
