Gerrard's gifts for accident boy

Steve Gerrard

Liverpool star Steven Gerrard has made a hospital visit to the boy who was injured after being hit by his car.

Ten-year-old Jamie Hellawell suffered a broken leg when he collided with the player's car when he was leaving his school in Merseyside on Monday.

Gerrard took Jamie some gifts - including boots signed by his England team-mate, Man United's Wayne Rooney.

Jamie's a United fan, so let's hope the boots from the striker will REALLY cheer him up.

After the visit, Gerrard said: "It was a real relief to see Jamie sitting up and smiling."

The player also met other young patients at the hospital and posed for photos.

Chirpy

Jamie's mum said her son was "quite chirpy" despite his injuries.

"He was absolutely delighted that Steven came to visit him in hospital today and was speechless when he saw the special gifts," she added.
