Transformers 2 gets the go-ahead

After the smash success of robot movie Transformers this summer, film bosses have given the thumbs-up for a sequel.

Based on the 80s cartoon series, the first film was about two warring groups of robots - the heroic Autobots and evil Decepticons.

The robots transformed into cars, jets, helicopters and motorbikes and their adventures made nearly £346.4m ($700m).

Now Transformers 2 is set for a release in June 2009, but it's not known if all the stars will be coming back.
