Typhoon Wipha has battered the east coast of China with heavy rains and winds of up to 150km per hour.
More than two million people were moved from their homes in Shanghai and nearby areas before the storms hit, but two people have died in the bad weather.
Experts thought the typhoon would be the worst to hit China for years but said it had lost some of its power.
They said the storms were also expected to miss Shanghai now, but could still cause loads of damage to other areas.
Lots of schools have been closed, trains and planes have been cancelled and thousands of boats and ships have been told to stay in their ports.
The bad weather has also affected the Women's World Cup.
Two matches that were due to be held on Wednesday, in Shanghai and Hangzhou, are thought to have been rearranged for Thursday because of the storms.
