Children will decide the punishment dished out to other kids who commit crimes under a trial scheme being held later this year.
After undergoing special training, the children - aged 10 to 17 - will hear cases where other young people have allegedly caused trouble.
Offenders could be ordered to carry out punishment including saying sorry to the victim, or cleaning up graffiti.
The trial will take place in Preston, Lancashire, in northern England.
The idea comes from a project in America.
It says that young people are more likely to change their ways if they're criticised by other kids, rather than adults in authority positions.
Strong
The scheme has been backed by senior police officers.
"By involving young people we can develop strong local communities," said Chief Superintendent Michael Barton of the Lancashire police force.
