Wallace and Gromit statue on way

A life-size statue of Wallace and Gromit is going to be built in the home city of their creator.

Nick Park, who has won lots of Oscars for his animation, is working on designs for the cracking tribute to the cartoon pair.

Council chiefs in Preston, Lancs, want to raise £100,000 for the statue.

A happy Mr Park said: "As a Prestonian myself, it would be a wonderful honour to have a statue to the characters in my home city."
