Hollywood plagued by pigeon poop

A pigeon on the Hollywood walk of fame

The glitz and glamour of Hollywood is being splattered by pigeon poop as the birds start to outnumber the celebs.

People in the Californian town are fed up with the "unmanageable mess" being made by the growing number of birds.

Experts considered putting spikes or electric wires on fences to stop birds roosting, but now they've got a new plan to halve pigeon numbers by 2012.

They're adding something to their food that will stop them having so many chicks but won't harm them in any way.

There's an estimated 5,000 pigeons living in Hollywood.
