JK Rowling gave lucky Potter fans a special treat to mark the launch of the last book in the series - a moonlight reading at the Natural History Museum in London
Thousands of fans applied for tickets to the reading but only 500 were chosen, with another 1,200 people also getting the chance to meet JK Rowling at a book signing afterwards.
JK started reading from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows just after midnight on Friday.
The main hall at the museum was full of witches and wizards waiting to hear what the future holds for the school boy wizard.
But JK's used to keeping the plot of her books secret and didn't give too much away.
This group of girls didn't seem to mind and looked like they were having a great time.
The reading gave fans a taste of what to expect before they got their own signed copy of the book to take home and add to their Potter collections.
