Giant snake found on country path

The snake

Police took a rather unusual and slippery customer into custody - a giant snake usually found living thousands of miles away.

The two metre carpet python, which normally lives in Australia, was found by a women taking a walk in Dorset.

The police had to be very careful when they caught the massive snake as they can bite, but aren't poisonous.

A reptile keeper is looking after the snake while police try to track down the owner of the slippery creature.

Policeman Andy Crook, said: "This was a very unusual case."
