Some of the biggest names in Indian cinema visited Yorkshire for a weekend celebrating the best of Bollywood.

Actors Amitabh Bachchan and Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty were among those attending the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards celebrations.

Bollywood is the nickname given to the Indian film industry - it's a play on the word Hollywood.

The main awards ceremony normally attracts a TV audience of more than 500 million people in 110 countries.

The glittering ceremony, held in Sheffield on Saturday night, is seen as Bollywood's answer to the Oscars and was the main highlight of a weekend celebrating the best of Indian cinema.

Other events included world film premieres, exhibitions, workshops and a celebrity cricket match featuring stars of the Bollywood scene.

It's thought about 30,000 overseas visitors travelled to Yorkshire to take part in the festival, which spread across the cities of Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford, York and Hull.
