Floods destroy thousands of homes

Floods in China

About 2,000 homes have collapsed in China after heavy rain caused widespread flooding.

Thousands of people in China's eastern province of Jiangxi had to evacuate their homes as the floods affected more than 250,000 in 59 counties.

Some areas were hit by more than 10cm of rain and weather experts warned more was expected over the next few days.

Last month, rainstorms caused disasters that killed at least 43 people in south west areas of Sichuan and Chongqing.
