Tracy Beaker star visits Ghana

Dani Harmer meets children in Ghana

Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer has visited Africa to find out about a campaign which aims to make sure that all children can go to school.

Dani visited the country of Ghana to see what is being done to help children there get a proper education - and Newsround went with her.

The Global Campaign for Education (GEC) says that 80 million children worldwide are not able to have an education.

In our first report we meet 12-year-old Zuwera who is not able to go to school.

The GEC is hoping that all children will have an education by the year 2015 but the current state of play is that these targets will not be achieved.

The organisation has begun a 'Join Up' campaign which encourages children from across the world to do something positive to highlight the fact that millions of kids are not able to go to school.

You can make a human chain of people to video or photograph or make paper chains to colour in.

These can then be sent to top politicians from across the world who are having an important meeting, called the G8 summit, on 6 June.
