Lily is latest clothes designer

Lily Allen is the latest star to design a range of clothes following in the footsteps of Madonna, Kylie and model Kate Moss.

The singer said she had a lot of fun designing the new clothes but wasn't giving up being a pop star.

The 21-year-old has designed six dresses, high-heeled shoes, patterned trainers and flowery jewellery for a high street store.

Lily told Newsround: "You always need a nice dress to dress up in."

She added: "One of the things I thought about while I was designing the collection was that it's a summer collection, it's the end of term and there's school discos coming."

Surprised

Lily was quite surprised when she turned up at the clothing launch in a London shop to see a huge cardboard figure of herself on display.

She said: "As I was walking into the shop I saw a massive me in the window. I turned into a shy little girl which is quite odd for me."
