The campaign trail

Making a speech

They candidates take part in something called hustings - where they make speeches to try to win support.

There will be three hustings in England, one in Scotland and one in Wales.

This will take about six weeks.

Even if Gordon Brown is the only leadership candidate, he will still be expected to take part in the hustings, along with the people trying to get the Deputy PM job.
