I'm helping my school to recycle

Recycling bins

Press Packer Kirsty gets really annoyed when people throw litter on the ground.

So she decided to join a committee at her school to see if there was anything she could do to help the environment.

"The thing I hate the most is when people throw litter on the ground - it drives me crazy.

So I decided to go to the eco-school committee at my school to see if there was anything that I could do about it.

I am now going to all of the eco-school meetings because I became a committee member.

Making a difference

So far we have managed to get large bins for all the teachers and we are aiming to get recycling bins into every classroom.

When that eventually happens, a the pupil from the school council will go around and collect the paper from all the recycling bins.

They'll also throw all the non-recyclable rubbish into the bigger bins at the back of the school.

It still annoys me to think that people will drop litter on the ground, but it now gives me comfort to think that I am doing my bit to help."

Kirsty, 13, Strathclyde

Why don't you write us a Press Pack report - and get it published on the site?!

It can be about anything that's happened in your local area - or your views on the news.
