Latest console release the PlayStation 3 is already breaking records.
More than 165,000 of the machines were snapped up within the first two days of them becoming available, breaking the UK sales record for games consoles.
Microsoft sold 71,000 Xbox 360 consoles over its UK launch weekend, while Nintendo sold 105,000 Wii machines.
However, only a limited amount of these consoles were sent to shops, so some people were left disappointed when they found that stores had sold out.

The basic PS3 package costs about £420 because Sony is only selling the 60 gigabyte version in the UK and not offering the cheaper 20 gigabyte model.
Sony says this is because people have said they prefer it, and it's a better way to enjoy the console.
'Amazing'
Newsround's reporter Adam tried out PS3 before it came out.
He says the graphics are amazing but its more traditional style of controller means it's not as much fun as the Wii's motion sensitive one.
