Comic Relief tune takes top spot

Girls Aloud and Sugababes perform for Comic Relief

Walk this Way, the Comic Relief single from Sugababes vs Girls Aloud, has marched to the top of the chart.

The tune, which raised loads of money for charity, knocked Take That's Shine off the top spot.

A second Comic Relief track, (I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles, starring comedians Peter Kay and Matt Lucas, was a new entry at number three.

Ray Quinn was celebrating after he beat fellow X Factor contender Ben Mills to number one in the album chart.

Ray shot straight to the top spot with his debut Doing It My Way.

The 18-year-old also set a record for being the youngest male artist to enter the UK album chart at number one without releasing a single.

Elsewhere in the singles chart, Gwen Stefani featuring Akon held on to the number two position while Take That slipped three to four and Fray was at five with How To Save A Life.

Take That did better in the album chart with Beautiful World climbing one place to two, while Ben Mills' Picture of You went in at number three.
