Star Wars cloak sells for £54,000

A cloak worn by Star Wars character Obi-Wan Kenobi has fetched a whopping £54,000 when it was sold at a London auction of film and TV outfits.

An unnamed telephone bidder snapped up the dark brown costume which appeared in the 1977 classic sci-fi film.

Other top sellers include the grey coat worn by Gary Oldman as Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which fetched £15,600

And a jacket which appeared in a James Bond film went for £33,600.

Big surprises included a coat and scarf worn by one of the Doctors in an old series of Doctor Who which sold for a massive £24,600 - that's 12 times more than experts had predicted!

Another big seller was the Batman and Robin costumes worn in an episode of Only Fools and Horses which were bought by a fan for £10,200 - double their estimate.
